What's New

February 2, 2009: Qualification Data

Qualifying Activities are in the process of transforming each Qualified Products List (QPL) and Qualified Manufacturers List (QML) into an electronic equivalent in the Qualified Products Database (QPD). During this transition period, ASSIST will either have a QPL or QML in PDF format or a link to qualification data in the QPD.

Once a QPL or QML is published in the QPD, all legacy PDF files for that QPL or QML are removed from the Document Details page and replaced with a Transformation Notice. Users may access the qualification information by clicking on the View QPD Data link in the Revision History section of the Document Details page.

Users may also access qualification data in the QPD by clicking on the Qualification link in the upper right corner of the Overview section of the Document Details page for the governing specification (i.e., the specification that establishes the requirement for qualification).

Users requiring access to archival information should submit a request using the Contact Us link on ASSISTdocs.com or the ASSIST Feedback module.

Although qualification data in the QPD may be accessed directly from the Document Details page of a specific specification, QPL or QML, the QPD gives users more options, such as searching by Government Designation, Manufacturer Designation, or Source Name. The QPD also lets users access some useful reports, such as Manufacturers by Government Designation, Manufacturer Parts by CAGE Code, and QPL to Manufacturer Designation. Users may access the QPD by logging on to the ASSIST web site.

December 23, 2005: Document Status and FSC/Area Filters

The Basic Search and FSC/Standardization Area Search pages have been modified to allow for the additional filtering of documents based on their status (i.e., Active, Inactive, Canceled / Withdrawn); however, at least one other parameter besides the document status must still be specified. Furthermore, please note that the FSC/Standardization Area Search page supports the ability to select multiple FSC/Area codes.

December 23, 2005: Reaffirmation Dates

The Document Details page now shows "reaffirmation date" information for Non-Government Standard documents, where applicable. The reaffirmation date is the last time the DoD Adopting Activity (aka Preparing Activity) reaffirmed that the DoD continues to maintain an interest in a document.

April 8, 2005: Document Part Dates

The Revision History listing that appears on the Document Details page has been modified to display date information for the associated individual document parts; this date information is now used for sorting purposes when determining the order in which to list these document parts. If you identify any problems or inconsistencies between the part date and its associated image, please submit feedback so that we may identify and correct the issue.

March 14, 2005: Watermarking

Most document image files downloaded from assistdocs.com will now bear a watermark at the bottom of each page to let users know from where -- and when -- the PDF file was downloaded. The watermark provides users with timestamp information useful in determining whether or not they are viewing/using the current version. It also provides the a source URL where users may check to see if a later version is available.
